It is a great joy to be part of the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ and we have pleasure in sharing gospel fellowship with others.
We believe that God alone can give us the gift of salvation and that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Our message is summed up in the Gospel, a word that means good news. In the Gospel message, we say that you should think seriously about your relationship with God and the story of Jesus because it is a story that describes how we can experience the blessing of forgiveness of sin and peace with God through faith in the Lord Jesus. This salvation, which we all need, is connected to the fact that we all have broken God’s Law and need to be reconciled to Him. Jesus has revealed that he will judge us according to how we have lived, but in the gospel, he gives the assurance that we can be forgiven if we respond to him in repentance and faith. Faith means to depend on him, and repentance means to confess our sins to God and express regret for them.
Visitors and other interested persons are warmly welcomed at all our services and meetings. In this way we can share the privilege of worshipping God together and explore the teaching of the Word of God as he speaks into our lives.
When you come into Church, you’ll be given a Bible and a Psalm Book. The Minister will lead us in worship which will include congregational singing, prayer, reading the Bible and preaching. The congregational singing will be led by a Precentor.
Participation in the regular life of the congregation comes through sharing in our gospel services and the public worship of God. God has promised to bless His Word preached and coming to faith in the Lord Jesus is the greatest and most fulfilling joy that we can experience in life.
We believe in the biblical teaching of Christian giving through which the work of the gospel in the local community, and the missionary work of the gospel in the wider world, is supported financially. Information as to the different methods of making financial contributions to the work of the gospel is available from the congregational Treasurer who can be contacted through the Get in Touch section of the website.
The Word of God teaches that there are two Sacraments – the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. When we come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, it is our biblical duty to profess our faith before the Church and the community in which we live. When we come to make public profess our faith, we are granted the privilege of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on successful interview by the Kirk Session.
Parents who are committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to the teaching of the Word of God may come to the Kirk Session to request the privilege of the Sacrament of Baptism for their children.
Adults who come into the Church and who were not baptised as infants will receive the Sacrament of Baptism before they are granted the privilege of the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
Details on the Sacraments and participation on the life of the Congregation are found in the Member’s Handbook issued by the Church and updated from time to time.
